Louis A. Adanio, EVP & CUO, Property Insurance

Louis A. Adanio serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer - Property Insurance of Alterra Insurance Company Limited, a company renamed from Max Bermuda Ltd. in May 2010 following the merger of Max Capital and Harbor Point. Lou joined the company in September 2004 and is responsible for property insurance on a worldwide basis. Lou was previously with Endurance Specialty Insurance in Bermuda, where he started up the Property Division and functioned as Chief Underwriting Officer. Prior to that, Lou was President & Chief Underwriting Officer of Cambridge Risk Technical Underwriters in New Jersey.

For over 16 years, Lou was with SCOR Reinsurance, responsible for North American facultative operations and large, national, and global treaty market segments. He was also responsible for the retrocession department and a member of the Board of Directors.

Lou was a Project Engineer and Construction Manager before joining the insurance industry and is also a licensed Professional Engineer. He holds an M.B.A. in Management from New York University, an M.S.E. in Civil Engineering from Princeton University, and a B.E. in Civil Engineering from The Cooper Union.
