Carla Whitehurst, VP, Insurance & Reinsurance Legal Counsel

Carla Whitehurst joined Max in 2005, and serves as Vice President, Insurance and Reinsurance Legal Counsel. Carla is a licensed attorney in the US and in Bermuda. In Bermuda since 2001, Carla has served as the Assistant General Counsel at Commercial Risk Reinsurance Company, Bermuda, and then as the Supervisor of Liability Claims at Oil Casualty Insurance Company, Bermuda. Prior to 2001, Carla specialized in environmental law and regulation, working at environmental firms in the Washington D.C. area from 1992 to 2001. Carla earned her B.Sc. Degree in Chemistry from Howard University, Washington DC, her Juris Doctorate Degree from University of Maryland School of Law, and her Commonwealth Certificate of Legal Education from the Norman Manley Law School, West Indies. She is a member of the Maryland Bar, the Jamaican Bar, and the Bermuda Bar
